15’th anniversary of the passing of pirate saint Al Fansome, Esq.

I am so sorry I missed the 15’th anniversary of St. Al Fansome’s demise, but the date was never clear and the belief of St. Al moving on to his well deserved reward was slight. He seemed to be an immortal, no slights hurt him and bricks and stones never broke his bones. I will leave you with the heart-felt but heart-less elegy from the Kracker, first of his name; who surely had no hand in the said demise of Brother Al. RIP my friend, you never hurt anyone. -EE

Yes it truly is a sad day in the pirate radio community. I never even knew poor old Al had whits, never mind loosing his battle with it. I ran across this one the Pissborough Daily Chronicle. Al Fansome, 89, was found dead in his trailer in Pissboro yesterday. Al was the son of the late Alphious Veritus Fansome and Kiko Bertha “Connie” Smith Fansome. He was a bureaucrat at the Foundation for Utter Slobbery for 32 years. After his retirement, he traveled to Pennsylvania several times. He enjoyed watching the farm animals at the canal.

His marriage to V.F.O. “Babs” Fansome ended in divorce. He is survived by a son, Jerry Garcia Fansom, and his cats, Fluffy, Muffy, Tufty, Reefer, and Dizzy.

Services will be held in Pissburg at Odd Fellows on Wednesday and a private burial service at the Bog on Back Lick Road will follow. Memorial contributions can be made to the:

Bowling League, P.O. Box 32,
Mount Jackson, Virginia.

Regards,
Kracker
